Guantanamo.- The work carries out at the Arroyo Hondo Production Hub, located 12 kilometers southeast of the city of Guantánamo, boosts the 2025-2026 winter planting season, which began in early September in Cuba and will extend until the end of February next year.

As part of the province’s strategic development program through 2030, the producer Raúl Díaz Alonso, a member of the Municipal Grain Company, is working 109 hectares of land. Of these, 36 are planted with papaya, interspersed with 10 hectares dedicated to cabbage production.

Raúl Díaz indicated that they have planted 26 hectares of beans, and red beans in the remaining hectares, using mechanized methods. They expect to harvest approximately 40 tons of this legume by the end of the year.
