Guantánamo.- In “El Aguacate,” the same intricate, mountainous, beautiful, and historic location where, on March 26, 1958, then-Rebel Army Commander Raúl Castro Ruz founded the First Command of the Frank País García Second Eastern Front, was the setting chosen for the presentation of work commitments by the Party and the provincial government, in honor of the 72nd anniversary of the assault on the Moncada and Carlos Manuel de Céspedes barracks, on July 26, 1953, National Rebellion Day.

Before Yoel Pérez García, First Secretary of the Party in the province, and Alis Azahares Torreblanca, Governor of Guantánamo, the highest political and governmental authorities of the ten municipalities of the Cuban Upper East region presented their work priorities that one of the main objectives is to make progress in the local development strategies and the pillars of government management.

Likewise, the Party and the government in the province, as well as the political and mass organizations, also made their emulative commitments in the productive, economic, and social spheres, committed, among other tasks, to supporting the province’s achievement of the glorious date of July 26th, with the planting of 400 hectares of sugarcane.

The day in the El Salvador hills was also an opportunity to hold the second exchange of experiences and new practices with the First Secretaries of the Party, the leadership of the Assemblies of People’s Power, mayors, and other cadres. The province’s working method seeks to generalize the best results presented by each territory visited across all municipalities and advance the comprehensive economic and social sustainable development of Guantánamo.
