Baracoa, Cuba – Rio Miel bridge, part of Alejandro de Humboldt National Park

Guantanamo.- This weekend, workers from the Conservation Department of the Alejandro de Humboldt National Park, in the Baracoa municipality, carried out beach cleaning actions to contribute to the sanitation of protected areas.

Yordanis Turro Columbié, one of the specialists in the area in this northeastern territory, reported that the central activity took place in Playa Blanca, in the community Boca Miel, where pioneers from the primary school located there and residents of the area were invited.

Turro Columbié added that in response to the invitation made by the Ibero-American Pro Beach Network, other cleaning actions were also planned for this Saturday in the communities of the Alejandro de Humboldt National Park, which have these natural formations that are also enjoyed.

The activity responds to the call made by the Ibero-American Network Pro Beaches, through the Center for Multidisciplinary Studies of Coastal Zones of the University of Oriente.
