Guantanamo.- The Workers’ Central Federation of Cuba (CTC) in Guantánamo Province is rolling out a comprehensive plan focused on union training, workplace assemblies, and productive support. This initiative aims to convert 176 economic and social transformations into actionable steps within companies and work collectives, positioning workers as essential contributors to the execution of these measures.
Juana Eglis Fernández Louit, the CTC Secretary-General for the region, highlighted that these efforts combine union education with workplace assemblies and productive assistance.
In September, assemblies were convened to present the transformations and solicit worker feedback on enhancing company efficiency and improving food supply organization.
Fernández Louit emphasized the significance of workers’ weekend contributions, particularly in cultivating short-cycle crops for self-sufficiency. The discussion and analysis of the plan and budget will continue through December, ensuring companies are equipped to implement the transformations aligned with the 2027 program.
Additionally, the CTC is advancing the new Labor Code (Law 189), which has been discussed with workers to incorporate their insights and ensure comprehension of its new provisions.
