Guant\u00e1namo.- The “Hands that create for Guant\u00e1namo” Brigade, from the sister province of Holgu\u00edn, arrived in this eastern territory to share its solidarity in the communities of the Mais\u00ed Municipality affected by the passage of Hurricane Oscar, and contribute from there to the recovery process, as well as to bring their art to the residents of this town.<\/p>\n

This solidarity group, led by Yakelin Tapia Aguilera, provincial director of Culture in Holgu\u00edn, is made up of more than a dozen creators from this sister territory, including musicians, art instructors, writers and performing artists who will work for a whole week in the easternmost municipality of Cuba, where they have already set up their camp to contribute to the recovery effort of this demarcation.<\/p>\n
After welcoming the Holguin Artistic Brigade, Yoelvys Laba\u00f1ino L\u00f3pez, head of the Culture sector in Guant\u00e1namo and Dayanis Reyes Delgado, Provincial Secretary of the Workers’ Union of Culture, spoke with its members and updated them regarding the strong impact of Hurricane Oscar in the territory, as well as the recovery actions carried out in the municipalities of San Antonio del Sur, Im\u00edas, Baracoa and Mais\u00ed.<\/p>\n
Likewise, the provincial directors thanked the humanistic gesture of the Holguin Brigade “Hands that create for Guant\u00e1namo”, and stressed the importance of their solidarity not only for the Guantanamo cultural union but also for the residents affected by this meteorological event in this town.<\/p>\n

During the meeting, Yakelin Tapia Aguilera, Provincial Director of Culture in Holgu\u00edn, reiterated the commitment and willingness of this Artistic Brigade to help and support every task, and also announced that they also bring donations made by groups of cultural institutions in Holguin for the victims of Hurricane Oscar, as well as for the libraries of educational centers and the culture institutions.<\/p>\n
