\"\"Guantanamo.- Cuba is participating in the Ibero-American Forum of Country Brands (CIMAP), which is taking place in Chile since Wednesday and until Friday, with the goal of establishing its position in the international market.<\/span><\/p>\n

The event is being held at the Federico Santa Mar\u00eda Technical University in Valpara\u00edso and brings together leaders, experts, and representatives from 14 nations in the region.<\/span><\/p>\n

Humberto Juan Fabi\u00e1n Su\u00e1rez, president of the Council of the Country Brand of Cuba, explained to the Cuban press that the nation’s distinctive sign encompasses all aspects of its work, including cultural and identity-related aspects, as well as sports, science, and tourism.<\/span><\/p>\n

He said that this symbol, which now has different characteristics, has been present in Cuban history since the wars for independence from colonialism, when the Mambises used it on their hats to differentiate themselves from the Spanish soldiers.<\/span><\/p>\n

After the triumph of January 1, 1959, it became part of the emblem of the pioneers organization, appearing in the Complete Works of Jos\u00e9 Mart\u00ed and the revolutionary air force.<\/span><\/p>\n

The distinctive sign consists of a red triangle with a lone white star in the center, followed by the word “Cuba” in blue.<\/span><\/p>\n

Su\u00e1rez stated that the brand gives a competitive edge to everything it touches, as it represents a country with a rich cultural, political, and identity heritage.<\/span><\/p>\n

Among the elements that define Cuba, he mentioned tobacco, rum, music, the ballet school, the development of biotechnology, and the pharmaceutical industry.<\/span><\/p>\n

He recalled that the knowledge of Cuban rum masters was recognized as an intangible heritage of humanity by the United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization.<\/span><\/p>\n

Su\u00e1rez noted that one of the sectors that has extensively used the brand is tourism, including its latest Unique campaign, as well as in international relations.<\/span><\/p>\n

He found it remarkable that Cuban doctors and healthcare professionals who fought Covid-19 in Latin American countries, the Caribbean, and even in developed nations such as Italy and Andorra, wore the Country Brand on their white coats.<\/span><\/p>\n

The eleventh Ibero-American Forum of Country Brands will address topics such as the roles of the public and private sectors in shaping the country’s image and digital strategies for brand promotion. <\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
