{"id":11728,"date":"2025-01-29T17:26:46","date_gmt":"2025-01-29T22:26:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.radioguantanamo.icrt.cu\/english\/?p=11728"},"modified":"2025-01-29T17:27:22","modified_gmt":"2025-01-29T22:27:22","slug":"guantanamo-baracoa-theater-crusade-began-its-cultural-journey","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.radioguantanamo.icrt.cu\/english\/guantanamo-baracoa-theater-crusade-began-its-cultural-journey\/","title":{"rendered":"Guant\u00e1namo-Baracoa Theater Crusade began its cultural journey"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Guant\u00e1namo.- About 50 participants of the XXXV Edition of the Guant\u00e1namo Baracoa Theater Crusade began their cultural journey to the mountains and more intricate areas of the Cuban easternmost province, on occasion of the celebration of the 172nd birth anniversary of the National Hero, Jos\u00e9 Mart\u00ed, on January 28th.<\/p>\n<p>Emilio Vizca\u00edno, director of the Gui\u00f1ol theater group and the Crusade, highlighted the relevance of this initiative for the spiritual enrichment of the community and the right of children to comprehensive development, where art has a fundamental role in their lives.<\/p>\n<p>He emphasized that artists have a cultural and political responsibility in times of cultural colonization, where they must overcome superficiality and inaction and reaffirm their creativity in the face of adversity.<\/p>\n<p>Before leaving as usual from the Jos\u00e9 Mart\u00ed Park in the capital city, the Crusade was recognized by the Communist Party of Cuba (PCC), the Government, the Provincial Directorate of Culture and Education.<\/p>\n<p>Yoel P\u00e9rez Garc\u00eda, first secretary of the PCC, congratulated the members of the Crusade for their years of work in the communities, where they pay tribute to Jos\u00e9 Mart\u00ed in this loving project for children and young people.<\/p>\n<p>He stressed that this work is like a needle and a thread so fine that it sews with joy and love the hearts that are still broken and encouraged them to continue, like Quixotes, to cross mountains with the support of everyone.<\/p>\n<p>In the activity were also honored those who dedicated 30 years to the project, such as Liuba Duport\u00e9 Guilarte and Emilio Vizca\u00edno, as well as Eldys Cuba (31 years), Yamisela Mart\u00ednez (32 years old), Ury Rodr\u00edguez and Maribel L\u00f3pez Carcas\u00e9s (34 years) and Gerturdis Campos Bernal, the only active founder in these 35 years.<\/p>\n<p>The award was extended to the Ministry of the Interior (Minint) and the Revolutionary Armed Forces for their collaboration.<\/p>\n<p>Albis L\u00f3pez Ram\u00edrez, first secretary of the Party in the municipality of Guant\u00e1namo, and Yoelvis Laba\u00f1ino, provincial director of Culture, also went to see off the troupe<\/p>\n<p>Likewise, representatives of political and mass organizations, the Minint and local artists, attended the cultural event, performed by students from the Antonia Luisa Cabal Professional Music School, the Colmenita Guant\u00e1namo and the Danza Fragmentada Company.<\/p>\n<p>Until March 2, the Guantanamo- Baracoa Theater Crusade will tour hard-to-reach communities in six municipalities and will offer 180 performances as well as artistic workshops, conferences, master classes and meetings between young students and theater leaders to bring culture to those who are furthest from these recreational options.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Guant\u00e1namo.- About 50 participants of the XXXV Edition of the Guant\u00e1namo Baracoa Theater Crusade began their cultural journey to the mountains and more intricate areas of the Cuban easternmost province, on occasion of the celebration of the 172nd birth anniversary of the National Hero, Jos\u00e9 Mart\u00ed, on January 28th.
