\"\"The workshop “The Integration of Culture in Risk Management: Methodologies, Risks, and Challenges,” convened by UNESCO and organized by the Office of the City Curator, took place in Baracoa on July 7 and 8.<\/p>\n

The event is part of the United Nations response plan to the hydrometeorological phenomena that affected Cuba last year.<\/p>\n

In the meeting at the Baracoa Hotel, where the first session took place, representatives of cultural institutions from Guantanamo municipalities affected by Hurricane Oscar in October 2024 presented their experiences.<\/p>\n

The representative of the Civil Defense in Baracoa also participated in the session, presenting key elements of the municipality’s characteristics, its strengths and weaknesses, and the work that is done to train the population and its most vulnerable groups to cope with extreme events.<\/p>\n

The presentation by the MSC. Ricardo Su\u00e1rez Bustamante, specialist from the Municipal Department of Territorial Planning, addressed the municipality’s physical and geographical conditions that make it a multi-risk area.<\/p>\n

The UNESCO workshop on methodologies, experiences, and challenges in risk management, held in Cuba, developed other program activities on Thursday.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
