In the capital\u2019s Tao Dan Garden Park, the Cuban head of State, along with the accompanying high-level delegation and local authorities, laid a wreath and kept one minute of silence in honor of the most universal of all Cubans.<\/p>\n

Diaz-Canel visits the Indochinese nation to take part in the commemorative event for the 80th anniversary of the proclamation of independence and founding of the then Democratic Republic of Vietnam, on September 2.<\/p>\n

Shortly after his arrival, Diaz-Canel expressed his gratitude on his X profile for the people\u2019s warm welcome and thanked Vietnam for its friendship and example.<\/p>\n

His agenda includes meetings with To Lam, Secretary General of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV), President Luong Cuong, and other top officials.<\/p>\n

He will also visit companies in the biopharmaceutical and telecommunications sectors, which maintain close ties with their counterparts in Cuba, and meet with Vietnamese entrepreneurs from significant sectors of the Caribbean nation\u2019s economic life.<\/p>\n

This visit also takes place within the framework of the celebrations for the 65th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries, which will be celebrated on December 2, 2025.<\/p>\n

After his stay in Vietnam, Diaz-Canel will make official visits to China and Laos, \u201csister nations with whom we share deep ties and a history of shared cooperation and solidarity, standing the test of time and the greatest challenges,\u201d as the Cuban president wrote in another post on X.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
