Guantanamo.- Major General Ram\u00f3n Pardo Guerra, Chief of the National Civil Defense Staff, held a broad exchange this Sunday with key leaders of the Caimanera Municipality as part of the National Civil Defense Staff’s monitoring visit to Guant\u00e1namo.<\/p>\n
During the exchange, Pardo Guerra expressed particular interest in the local measures to mitigate the intense drought. He emphasized the urgent need to secure the necessary material resources to restore the concrete tank located at the Caimanera Hotel, which can store 30,000 liters of safe water for the population.<\/p>\n
At the meeting, \u00c1lvaro Henrique Est\u00e9vez, First Secretary of the Municipal Party Committee, explained to the Chief of the National Civil Defense Staff the assessment of the risks of natural disasters. Yoel P\u00e9rez Garc\u00eda, First Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, emphasized the need to prepare for any event, whether natural, climatic, or unconventional warfare.<\/p>\n
The Chief of the National Civil Defense Staff also indicated that they should build on the experiences of other critical periods due to drought and seek innovative solutions to the difficult circumstances the country is experiencing. The work must be carried out jointly by Civil Defense and Water Resources Institute.<\/p>\n
