Both units run on domestic crude oil.<\/p>\n<p>According to the Office of the Presidency, the plant\u2019s total generation capacity is limited to 220 megawatts.<\/p>\n<p>Luis Maceira, the plant\u2019s director, explained to the head of state that Unit Five is scheduled for expanded partial maintenance, which will allow it to recover generation capacity.<\/p>\n<p>During his conversation with the workers, D\u00edaz-Canel acknowledged that <em>\u201cpeople here are working hard and showing tremendous spirit.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p>The Presidency emphasized that the inability to acquire spare parts\u2014due to the U.S. blockade against Cuba\u2014has tested the ingenuity and innovative capacity of the plant\u2019s 650 employees.
