The manager of the Cuban team drew up the first Cuban constellation of the tournament like someone writing a war cry on the whiteboard: nine names, nine destinies, a single flag waiting its turn to enter the fray.<\/p>\n
The lineup will be led by Roel Santos in left field, the first heartbeat of an offense that will seek to establish its dominance from the outset. The left-hander from Pinar del R\u00edo, just 22 years old and belonging to the Japanese Chunichi Dragons organization, will be the first Cuban voice from the mound in the Series of the Americas. Mesa described him as a player he can fully trust. Not only because of his recent numbers in the National Series, but also because of the composure he displays on the field. Mart\u00ednez will face the Leones de Le\u00f3n, two-time champions of Nicaraguan professional baseball, who fell 5-2 to the Caimanes de Barranquilla in their opening game today.<\/p>\n
