To this end, workers from other areas have been reassigned to support the physical effort required by this method.

Geographic Strategy

Production complexity varies according to population density:

– Rural Areas: The process is simpler because demand is lower and manual kneading is feasible for the required quantities.

– Municipal Centers and Cities: In urban areas, the challenge is greater due to the high production volume. However, staff has already been reorganized to ensure bread is produced under these exceptional conditions.

Distribution and Alternative Logistics

The lack of diesel fuel has forced a change in the transportation method from bakeries to warehouses and points of sale:

– Non-Motorized Means: Bicycle taxis, tricycles, and animal-drawn carts are being used.

– Sanitary Safety: In conjunction with the Health Department, strict hygiene measures have been evaluated and established. By replacing vans with open vehicles (such as bicycle taxis or carts), protocols have been intensified to prevent product contamination and ensure that the bread arrives with the necessary quality and safety. Commitment and Organization

– Product Quality: Despite the change in technology (from electric to wood-fired and from mechanical to manual), the stated objective is to maintain the quality of bread for the population.

– Community Support: The role of the Guantánamo population in supporting these processes is acknowledged, and their trust is requested regarding the logistical reorganization necessary to address the current situation.

Guantánamo – The strategy adopted in Guantánamo province to guarantee bread production and distribution in the face of the energy and fuel crisis.
