As part of the ongoing development program for this livestock sector, in which the province is committed to due to its advantages, plans are underway to expand this year with five new farms: three in Niceto P\u00e9rez and one each in Manuel Tames and Mais\u00ed.<\/p>\n<p>Mais\u00ed will be the first farm to have one in this far eastern municipality. When Mais\u00ed joins the buffalo breeding program, all municipalities will have at least one unit, except for Im\u00edas and Caimanera, where its development is not possible, primarily due to water scarcity.<\/p>\n<p>Jorge Luis reported that the province currently has 19 units for buffalo breeding: two each in Manuel Tames, Baracoa, and El Salvador; one each in Yateras, San Antonio del Sur, and Guant\u00e1namo; and 10 in Niceto P\u00e9rez, the main area for the species&#8217; breeding management<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Guantanamo.- Buffalo farming maintained its upward trend last year in the province, with both the number of farms and buffalo population increasing.
