The first ship with solidarity aid in the \u201cNuestra America\u201d Convoy arrived to Cuba on Tuesday, after five days on the sea from Mexico.<\/p>\n

The arrival of the ship, which departed last Friday from Puerto Progreso in Yucat\u00e1n, is part of a solidarity initiative spearheaded by various organizations and collectives. Their goal: to deliver a cargo of approximately 30 tons of essential supplies and resources in response to the intensification of the blockade and the energy-related persecution imposed by the United States government against the island.<\/p>\n

Thiago \u00c1vila, an influencer and the crew\u2019s leader, stated that a mission such as this should not be necessary in a world that fully respects International Law. Yet, he noted, this is not the case here, given the existence of a unilateral blockade\u2014condemned by the majority of the international community\u2014which constitutes a crime and an act of economic warfare.<\/p>\n

He emphasized that, in the face of Washington\u2019s ambitions, the peoples of the world are uniting through the spirit of solidarity to circumvent this siege and reach the largest island of the Antilles \u2014 the nation that has taught so many across the planet to practice solidarity and internationalism.<\/p>\n

He also condemned the indiscriminate use of sanctions and coercive measures against nations that defend their sovereignty against imperialism, reaffirming that friends of Cuba around the globe will not allow those hostile objectives to be achieved.<\/p>\n

The collected donations were gathered through a network of social organizations and international collectives that have championed similar initiatives in other contexts.<\/p>\n
