\"\"Guantanamo.- Guantanamo is making progress in strengthening the energy capacity of its health institutions through the distribution and installation of solar panels, as part of the national strategy to promote renewable energy use.<\/p>\n

The primary care and social assistance sectors are the main beneficiaries, with 46 priority centers receiving installations. These include 20 polyclinics, seven maternity homes, 11 senior centers, five nursing homes, and three medical offices in remote communities such as Paraguay in Guant\u00e1namo municipality, Sabana in Im\u00edas, and Santa Catalina in Manuel Tames.<\/p>\n

Currently, nine out of the province\u2019s ten municipalities are covered in this phase. The provincial capital leads with 12 beneficiary centers, followed by El Salvador with six; Baracoa, Mais\u00ed, and Manuel Tames with five each; San Antonio del Sur and Yateras with four each; while Im\u00edas and Niceto P\u00e9rez each report three.<\/p>\n

The program involves the installation of a total of 125 photovoltaic systems of comparable capacity, which will extend benefits to additional facilities in strategic sectors.<\/p>\n
