\"\"Guantanamo.- International Museum Day was celebrated in Guant\u00e1namo on May 18th, centered around the theme “Museums Uniting a Divided World.” The event was led by Provincial Director of Culture Yoelvys Laba\u00f1ino L\u00f3pez and featured contributions from museum specialists and staff from various institutions across the province.<\/p>\n

The gathering took place at the Guant\u00e1namo Provincial Museum, where the Cultural Heritage Center honored the efforts of personnel from several municipal museums, including Fuerte Matach\u00edn in Baracoa, 19 de Diciembre in Caimanera, and the Major General Pedro Agust\u00edn P\u00e9rez House Museum in the provincial capital.<\/p>\n

Francisco Ram\u00edrez Sarmiento, director of the Provincial Center for Cultural Heritage, delivered a keynote address highlighting the dedication and challenges faced by the staff at the province’s 21 cultural centers in preserving and promoting museum heritage.<\/p>\n

The event was further enriched by the vibrant sounds of Chang\u00fc\u00ed Guant\u00e1namo, along with performances from violinist Sarbelio Matos, soloist Dayamis Lores, and declaimer \u00c1ngel Boffil. The Danza Fragmentada Company also contributed to the festivities, all under the engaging hosting of announcer Magela Zamora Simons.<\/p>\n
