\"\" Guantanamo. – “Un Chang\u00fcinazo”, a cultural event series in Guant\u00e1namo, the traditional “Chang\u00fc\u00ed Pilgrimage” was set out from the Benito Odio Casa de la Trova (House of Trova) to the San Rafael Cemetery, in Guantanamo City.<\/p>\n

The procession served as a posthumous tribute to the exponents and followers of this indigenous musical genre, which has been declared part of the nation’s cultural heritage.<\/p>\n

Music researcher Jos\u00e9 Cuenca Sosa\u2014director of the Chito Latambl\u00e9 Veranes “Casa del Chang\u00fc\u00ed”\u2014delivered the opening remarks.<\/p>\n

The gathering also featured performances by the group “Estrellas Campesinas,” as well as the participation of local chang\u00fc\u00ed club presidents, cultural promoters, and artists dedicated to the rhythm.<\/p>\n

\"\"During the traditional procession\u2014which pays homage to key figures of this deeply rooted musical style and runs from the aforementioned cultural center to the local cemetery\u2014melodies were performed by the groups “Familia Vera” and “Morenos del Chang\u00fc\u00ed”; the latter is being honored at the event in celebration of its 35th anniversary.<\/p>\n

The procession culminated with a performance by the iconic group “Chang\u00fc\u00ed Guant\u00e1namo,” which is celebrating its 80th anniversary.<\/p>\n

This milestone serves as another focal point and inspiration for the “Un Chang\u00fcinazo” cultural program, organized by the Lil\u00ed Mart\u00ednez Gri\u00f1\u00e1n Provincial Music Center which is held in the region from June 26 to 28.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
