{"id":16724,"date":"2026-06-30T18:27:26","date_gmt":"2026-06-30T22:27:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.radioguantanamo.icrt.cu\/english\/?p=16724"},"modified":"2026-06-30T18:27:26","modified_gmt":"2026-06-30T22:27:26","slug":"guantanamo-top-leader-calls-to-boost-the-completion-of-public-works","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.radioguantanamo.icrt.cu\/english\/guantanamo-top-leader-calls-to-boost-the-completion-of-public-works\/","title":{"rendered":"Guantanamo Top Leader Calls to Boost the Completion of Public Works"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-14929 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.radioguantanamo.icrt.cu\/english\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/ciudad-guantanamo.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"276\" height=\"183\" \/>Guantanamo.- Boosting the completion and revitalization of public works across all municipalities stands as a central objective in preparation for July 26, National Rebellion Day.<\/p>\n<p>This call was emphatically made during the recent daily meeting, in which top local authorities assess the operational, economic, and social vitality of the province.<\/p>\n<p>A total of 37 projects spanning various sectors are slated for completion throughout the territory to commemorate the 73rd anniversary of the historic attacks on the Moncada barracks in Santiago de Cuba and the Carlos Manuel de C\u00e9spedes barracks in Bayamo.<\/p>\n<p>These initiatives aim to enhance infrastructure, production capabilities, and service provision to local populations, thereby fostering socioeconomic progress.<\/p>\n<p>However, notable gaps remain, as municipalities including El Salvador, Caimanera, and Niceto P\u00e9rez currently lack scheduled completions or revitalizations of social benefit projects, production facilities, or service entities.<\/p>\n<p>Addressing this shortfall, Yoel P\u00e9rez Garc\u00eda, First Secretary of the Party in Guant\u00e1namo, stressed the imperative that each municipality propose and realize the inauguration or enhancement of some house, center, or institution.<\/p>\n<p>Such actions would not only mark patriotic celebration but also align with the Political Bureau\u2019s recognition of the province\u2019s role within the national emulation for July 26th.<\/p>\n<p>The meeting further underscored persistent challenges impacting more than 7,731 residents\u2014primarily from rural communities in El Salvador, Baracoa, Mais\u00ed, Im\u00edas, and Manuel Tames\u2014who continue to face significant difficulties with water supply.<\/p>\n<p>These issues stem from damaged infrastructure elements including burned-out motors, broken transformers, and malfunctions at key pumping stations.<\/p>\n<p>As June concludes, the commercial circulation plan has reached only 85 percent fulfillment for the month, reflecting a deficit of approximately 32 million pesos.<\/p>\n<p>This shortfall is largely attributed to underperformance by municipal commercial enterprises in San Antonio del Sur, Manuel Tames, and Baracoa.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to these operational concerns, the review encompassed a detailed examination of outstanding fines\u2014particularly those undergoing enforcement proceedings\u2014the epidemiological situation within the province and its targeted treatment strategies, as well as financial collections and bank deposits.<\/p>\n<p>Collectively, these measures and assessments aim to drive forward the province\u2019s development, enhance public welfare, and honor the historic significance of National Rebellion Day through tangible socioeconomic advancements.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Guantanamo.- Boosting the completion and revitalization of public works across all municipalities stands as a central objective in preparation for July 26, National Rebellion Day.
