it is a depression \u2014not flat\u2014 in the middle of the confluence of high mountain ranges such as Purial and Im\u00edas, with more than a thousand meters of height and Caujer\u00ed, close to 500.<\/p>\n<p>In reality, the Caujer\u00ed Valley is the basin of the Sabanalamar River, which in the few rainy periods present in the region, feeds its small tributaries from the surface runoff of the slopes of these mountains that face the hollow.<\/p>\n<p>Flowing through fertile lands, many consider it an &#8220;oasis&#8221;, because it is located south of Guant\u00e1namo, an arid area known as the Cuban semi-desert.<\/p>\n<p>There\u00a0are\u00a0several\u00a0population\u00a0settlements\u00a0in\u00a0this\u00a0territory,\u00a0among\u00a0which\u00a0stand\u00a0out\u00a0Guaiban\u00f3,\u00a0El\u00a0Corojo,\u00a0Manguito,\u00a0the\u00a0Flores\u00a0neighborhood\u00a0and\u00a0others\u00a0scattered\u00a0through\u00a0hills\u00a0and\u00a0plains,\u00a0up\u00a0to\u00a0Puriales\u00a0de\u00a0Caujer\u00ed,\u00a0located\u00a0further\u00a0north.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-16756 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.radioguantanamo.icrt.cu\/english\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/2_Valle.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"938\" height=\"566\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.radioguantanamo.icrt.cu\/english\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/2_Valle.jpeg 938w, https:\/\/www.radioguantanamo.icrt.cu\/english\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/2_Valle-300x181.jpeg 300w, https:\/\/www.radioguantanamo.icrt.cu\/english\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/2_Valle-768x463.jpeg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 938px) 100vw, 938px\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>The Commander-in-Chief met with farmers from the Caujer\u00ed Valley at the Guaiban\u00f3 social club.\u00a0<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>On July 1st and 2nd, 1977, Fidel toured and camped in the Valley, where he met with farmers at the Guaiban\u00f3 Social Club, and urged them to establish Agricultural Production Cooperatives (CPA), participate in the rehabilitation of their damaged agricultural areas and in the economic and social development of the area.<\/p>\n<p>An Agricultural Polytechnic Institute, a pre-university school in the countryside and primary schools; a polyclinic, family doctor offices, a Territorial Plant Protection Station, several communities where peasants and workers live, three CPA, five CCS, two UBPC, which together cover more than 105 caballer\u00edas, are some of the transformations carried out in the Caujer\u00ed Valley, 49 years after the visit of the Leader of the Revolution.<\/p>\n<p>During this time, significant and costly investments were made, such as the Sabanalamar-Pozo Azul water transfer, primarily to alleviate the major water problem, increasing irrigation systems to potentially produce more than one million quintals of root vegetables, grains, and oother crops.<\/p>\n<p>A factory for processing fruits and vegetables and covered growing houses, where healthy and high quality seedlings are achieved, which increase the production of the farmers of the region.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">In the year of the Centenary of the Commander-in-Chief, making Fidel&#8217;s dreams of turning the Caujer\u00ed Valley into a true productive garden a reality is a special motivation for the farmers of Guant\u00e1namo.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Guantanamo.- From El Alto del Quimbuelo, Fidel outlined the economic and social development plans for the Caujer\u00ed Valley.
