\"\" Guantanamo. – As part of the 45th Caribbean Festival<\/strong>, popularly known as the Fiesta del Fuego,<\/strong>\u00a0taking place in the province of Santiago de Cuba from July 3 to 5<\/strong>, actor and theatre director Ury Rodr\u00edguez Urgell\u00e9s<\/strong>, is representing the eastern Cuban province at the Popular Theatre Workshop: Paths of Caribbean Theatre.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Rodriguez Urgell\u00e9s, who is also the president of the Guant\u00e1namo Provincial Committee of the Associatiin of Cuban Writers and Artists (UNEAC)<\/strong>, exchanged in the forum in which participants share knowledge and experiences gained through their community-based artistic work.<\/p>\n

The leader of the theatre company La Barca<\/strong>, presented his experiences on the transformative role of the performing arts within communities.<\/p>\n

The workshop also featured distinguished theatre figures, including F\u00e1tima Patterson Patterson<\/strong>, awarded with the Cuba’s National Theatre Award (2017); fellow eastern Cuban theatre director Juan Gonz\u00e1lez Fiffe<\/strong>, head of Teatro Andante<\/strong> in Granma Province; and invited artists from Colombia<\/strong>, the guest country honored at this year’s Caribbean Festival for its rich ethnic and cultural diversity.<\/p>\n

\"\"During his participation in the 45th edition of the Fiesta del Fuego, Rodr\u00edguez Urgell\u00e9s also presented the stage production “Minefield” (Campo Minado)<\/strong> at the Macub\u00e1 Theatre Studio<\/strong>, where he served as artistic director.<\/p>\n

The production is based on the play of the same title by renowned playwright and researcher Ulises Rodr\u00edguez Febles<\/strong>, from the province of Matanzas.<\/p>\n

Also representing Guant\u00e1namo Province at the 45th Caribbean Festival in neighboring Santiago de Cuba is the musical ensemble Robertico y su S\u00edncopa Uno<\/strong>, devoted to preserving the authentic and deeply rooted traditions of chang\u00fc\u00ed<\/strong>, the music-and-dance genre recognized as part of Cuba’s National Cultural Heritage since 2018.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
