Paula Al\u00ed is a benchmark of professionalism and passion for art. Her legacy is in the collective memory of a country that has admired her for years, and her name is synonymous with dedication, talent, and love for acting, states the newspaper Juventud Rebelde.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Paula Andrea Al\u00ed Rivera was awarded the 2026 National Television Prize, the highest recognition given in Cuba to media personalities for their entire body of work and professional career.<\/span><\/p>\n

The decision was approved on July 9, 2026 by the Board of Directors of the Institute of Information and Social Communication (ICS), after evaluating the artistic trajectory, the integrity of his work and the public impact of a career dedicated for more than six decades to Cuban television, theater and film.<\/span><\/p>\n

The National Radio and Television Award was created in 2002 by Resolution 56\/02 of the then Cuban Institute of Radio and Television (ICRT) to recognize artists whose contributions have been significant to both media. In the case of television, the award ceremony coincides with the anniversary of its founding in Cuba on October 24, 1950.<\/span><\/p>\n

The jury responsible for the selection was composed of Jos\u00e9 Ram\u00f3n Artigas V\u00e1zquez, as president; Miguel Lino Patterson Meri\u00f1o, Julio Pulido Castillo, Roberto Cornelio Ferguson, Juli\u00e1n Armando P\u00e9rez Delgado, and Caridad Rojas Zayas. Migdalia P\u00e9rez served as secretary for the process.<\/span><\/p>\n

At 88 years old, Paula Al\u00ed is a symbol of professionalism and passion for the arts. Her legacy lives on in the collective memory of a country that has admired her for years, and her name is synonymous with dedication, talent, and a love for acting.<\/span><\/p>\n

Undoubtedly, her career continues to inspire new generations of Cuban artists, who see her as a role model for her immense contribution to Cuban art and culture. Her on-screen presence has also been marked by a unique ability to connect with viewers.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Born on January 26, 1938, in Candelaria, Pinar del R\u00edo, Paula Al\u00ed entered the artistic world in 1959 as a television model. In 1965, she began her association with the Teatro Mart\u00ed, an emblematic venue of Cuban culture, and in 1970 she joined the Teatro Estudio group, one of the most prestigious companies in the country, where she remains to this day.<\/span><\/p>\n

Throughout his extensive career he has played characters in soap operas, television films, TV theater spaces, series and humor programs that are part of the Cuban audiovisual memory.<\/span><\/p>\n

Among the television productions where she has left her mark are the telenovelas <\/span><\/span>Enamorada del mar<\/span><\/span><\/em> (1989), <\/span><\/span>Retablo personal<\/span><\/span><\/em> (1992), <\/span><\/span>Las hu\u00e9rfanas de la Obrap\u00eda<\/span><\/span><\/em> (1999), <\/span><\/span>Salir de noche<\/span><\/span><\/em> (2002), <\/span><\/span>\u00a1Oh, La Habana!<\/span><\/span><\/em> (2007), <\/span><\/span>La otra esquina<\/span><\/span><\/em> (2014), <\/span><\/span>Vuelve a mirar<\/span><\/span><\/em> (2021) and <\/span><\/span>Los hijos de Pandora<\/span><\/span><\/em> (2022).<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
