\"\"Guantanamo.- More than 15 members from various unions were honored at the city\u2019s House of Culture by the Central Workers’ Union of Cuba (CTC) in recognition of their dedication and sustained commitment to their respective sectors.<\/p>\n

The Jes\u00fas Men\u00e9ndez Medal was awarded to Josefina Hasel Hermins, a member of the health workers’ union and employee of the Agostinho Neto General Teaching Hospital. This honor acknowledges her exceptional professional achievements and her long-standing role as a grassroots union leader within the institution.<\/p>\n

Hasel Hermins has devoted 27 years of service to the hospital\u2019s sterilization unit, the department responsible for processing and ensuring the safety of all instruments used in patient care.<\/p>\n

The awardee highlighted that receiving this distinction just days before the commemoration of Commander-in-Chief Fidel Castro Ruz’s birthday adds special significance to her dedication to the union.<\/p>\n

During the ceremony, the \u201cLabor Feat\u201d Distinction (Distinci\u00f3n Haza\u00f1a Laboral) was presented to eight members of the agricultural, forestry, and tobacco workers\u2019 union. Additionally, nine workers from the food, fishing, and agricultural sectors were recognized for 20 and 25 years of exemplary service in their workplaces.<\/p>\n

Yadira Vel\u00e1zquez, a member of the CTC municipal bureau, congratulated the awardees and encouraged them to continue advancing the organization\u2019s objectives, fulfilling development plans, increasing exportable goods, substituting imports, and fostering productive partnerships with emerging economic actors.<\/p>\n

The union leader stressed that those leading this phase must remain at the forefront of ideological, production, and service-sector efforts. She urged them to continue setting an example through their reaffirmation, dedication, and enthusiasm.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
