The event also marked the gallery\u2019s reopening and formed part of the province\u2019s commemoration of the 65th anniversary of UNEAC\u2019s founding.<\/p>\n<p>During the opening ceremony, Alejandro Lescay Hierrezuelo was honored by the institution and presented with a recognition by its president, Ury Rodr\u00edguez Urgell\u00e9s. Also attending the inauguration were Yoel P\u00e9rez Garc\u00eda, First Secretary of the Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba in Guant\u00e1namo; Yoelvys Laba\u00f1ino L\u00f3pez, head of the provincial Culture sector; and members of the organization from across the province.<\/p>\n<p>The exhibition *Limbo* comprises 13 works in small, medium, and large formats, created using the scratchboard technique. It includes crayon drawings and acrylic paintings on canvas that explore existential dilemmas such as abandonment, loneliness, and the search for identity. This is the fourth time the exhibition has been presented, following previous showings in Havana, Santiago de Cuba, and Holgu\u00edn.<\/p>\n<p>The exhibition is the result of institutional collaboration between the Guant\u00e1namo Provincial Committee of UNEAC and the provincial Directorate of Culture, in cooperation with the Caguayo Foundation of Santiago de Cuba.<\/p>\n<p>The commemorative event marking the 65th anniversary of UNEAC\u2019s founding in Cuba concluded with a performance by the group Robertico y su S\u00edncopa Uno, whose distinctive traditional chang\u00fc\u00ed rhythms enlivened the celebration in the courtyard of the cultural institution.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Guantanamo.- The exhibition *Limbo* by Santiago de Cuba-born visual artist Alejandro Lescay Hierrezuelo opened at La Celos\u00eda Gallery, part of the Guant\u00e1namo provincial branch of the Union of Writers and Artists of Cuba (UNEAC).
