Guantanamo.- Favorable results have been recorded in the rigorous microbiological studies being conducted as part of the disinfection process for the new membranes installed in the water ultrafiltration system for hemodialysis at the Octavio de la Concepci\u00f3n y de la Pedraja Hospital in the Baracoa Municipality.<\/p>\n
This is an important step that will determine the restoration of the service in the coming days.<\/p>\n
Due to this situation, health authorities in the territory decided, in mid-October, to transfer 48 patients receiving hemodialysis treatment from the municipalities of Baracoa, Mais\u00ed, and Im\u00edas to the Doctor Agostinho Neto General Teaching Hospital, in Guant\u00e1namo Province.<\/p>\n
The decision benefits the well-being of the patients undergoing this treatment, who are currently suffering the direct consequences of the genocidal economic, commercial, and financial war, as well as the energy blockade imposed by the United States against the Cuban people.<\/p>\n
These measures deny access to costly technologies, artificial kidneys, and the lifelong supplies required by these patients, who face the risk of nephrological complications that could lead to their deaths.<\/p>\n
This issue, along with others of social importance, was examined at the daily meeting to monitor the socioeconomic situation in Guant\u00e1namo province.<\/p>\n
The meeting was chaired by Liset P\u00e9rez Rosario, a member of the Provincial Party Bureau responsible for political and ideological affairs, and Governor Alis Azahares Torreblanca.<\/p>\n
During the videoconference with political and government authorities from the other municipalities, the participating decision-makers reviewed the measures being taken to resolve specific problems affecting the drinking-water networks in the city of Guant\u00e1namo and in the municipal capital of San Antonio del Sur.<\/p>\n
They also examined the limited progress made in opening neighborhood markets and restoring units of the Family Assistance System in several territories. as well as the causes of delays in repairing electrical transformers.<\/p>\n
