Guantanamo.- A special edition of “Entre R\u00edos” Magazine, the official publication of the Municipal Assembly of People\u2019s Power in Guant\u00e1namo, was presented at the Arab Hall of the Rub\u00e9n L\u00f3pez Sabariego House of Culture in Cuba\u2019s easternmost city.<\/p>\n
The launch coincided with the 50th anniversary of the establishment of Cuba\u2019s local People\u2019s Power bodies. The publication offers a historical overview of the institution and its creation in the provincial capital, while highlighting the work of founder Zulma Ojeda and designer V\u00edctor S\u00e1nchez.<\/p>\n
The issue also features significant moments from Commander-in-Chief Fidel Castro Ruz\u2019s presence in the region, along with striking images of socioeconomic sites he visited.<\/p>\n
These events were presented with eloquence by PhD. Migdalia Tamayo T\u00e9llez, a professor at the University of Guant\u00e1namo and a Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences.<\/p>\n
With more than 170 pages and a high-quality design, the edition was described by attendees as a luxury publication.<\/p>\n
“Entre R\u00edos” maintains its regular sections, devoted to important events, historical milestones and personalities that shaped the emergence and development of Guant\u00e1namo. The city will mark the 155th anniversary of its designation as a town on December 1.<\/p>\n
Idaliena D\u00edaz Casamayor, member of Parliament, president of the Municipal Assembly of People\u2019s Power in Guant\u00e1namo and director of “Entre R\u00edos,” emphasized the publication\u2019s distinctive features.<\/p>\n
Despite the complex and challenging times, she said, the magazine demonstrates how much can be achieved in support of the locality\u2019s cultural heritage.<\/p>\n
