The Association of Haitians and their Descendants (AHD) of Guantanamo celebrated the World Day for Cultural Diversity for Dialogue and Development, a date established by the United Nations to promote the richness of the world\u2019s cultures as well as the essential role of intercultural dialogue for achieving peace and sustainable development.<\/p>\n

Francisco D\u00edaz D\u00edaz, president of the AHD, emphasized the accumulation of practices and knowledge inherited from his predecessors, refined in the ethnic-cultural mosaic of this eastern region; At the same time, he asked the other communities of Hispanic and Caribbean descent to establish an exchange in favor of the preservation of the authentic values of those cultures formed for centuries in the Guantanamo identity.<\/p>\n

In the meeting held at the Casa del Chang\u00fc\u00ed Chito Latamblet Veranes in this city, there was also space to celebrate the Day of the Amateur Artist, a movement to which several promoters of Haitian traditions in the province belong, such as the groups Los Cossi\u00e1, Assossye and the musician Abel Osmany Jones -Venezuelan player for four-that performed in the activity.<\/p>\n

The members of the Association of Haitians and their Descendants in Guantanamo celebrated the World Day for Cultural Diversity for Dialogue and Development, along with representatives of the Bristish Indians Welfare Center and the Puerto Rican community, as well as cultural promoters of the Neighborhood Centro, Jordany Grandales Iznaga \u2013 leader of the socio-cultural project Jag\u00fcey La Esperanza of the Argeo Martinez community- and Adela G\u00f3mez Blanco, leader of the sociocultural project El Patio de Adela y el Caverchelo.Comb.<\/p>\n

In the same way, the members of the AHD honored the mothers and fathers of their organization, a moment of remembrance to those who bequeathed a whole heritage of musical-dance expressions, crafts, syncretic-religious practices and wisdom for life<\/p>\n
