Baracoa has cocoa and coconut, but it also has Polymita and El Yunque, surrounded by mountains to the south and the Caribbean to the north. It has rivers, a bay, spas and a port that once saw a lot of fruit exported to the North; it has a cross and a statue of Christopher Columbus, who in 1492 “discovered warm water.”<\/p>\n

It was the first Cuban city, called Villa de Nuestra Se\u00f1ora de la Asunci\u00f3n de Baracoa, today a municipality and only the Arawak name remained. The first cathedral was built here in the same way, for preaching the Gospel to the sinners of the \u201cnew world\u201d. There is a dark green in the jungle and bright colors in the town.<\/p>\n

Its people have the sweetness of the Miel River and the flow of the Toa River. In the afternoons they go down to the black sand beaches or to sit on the boardwalk, others walk along the boulevard with chocolate smell.<\/p>\n

From its strengths it is appreciated why they also call it Landscape City, City of Mountains or City of Waters.<\/p>\n
