Artistic performances, conferences, concerts, audiovisual screenings in movie theaters and public spaces, historical tours and community activities in vulnerable locations stand out among the actions that will be carried out in the province of Guantanamo, from October 10 to 20, aspart of the Cuban Culture Festivities.<\/p>\n

Jos\u00e9 Manuel P\u00e9rez Estrada, provincial deputy director of Culture, said in a press conference that the Day in the territory will be dedicated to the 145th anniversary of the birth of Regino E. Boti, the 120th anniversary of the Provincial Concert Band, the 40th anniversary of the founding of the Provincial Museum and the 15th of the Gui\u00f1ol theater-hall.<\/p>\n

The opening will be on October 10, at the Guaso theater, with the concert Todo una vida, a tribute to the founding of the Guantanamo Concert Band.<\/p>\n

The space will feature, along with the Band, the participation of the Mi Sol chamber orchestra and the Chang\u00fc\u00ed Guantanamo group.<\/p>\n

On October 12 and 13, for the first time in the country, the National Book Fair is scheduled for prisons also, with artistic-cultural performances, book donations, and the promotion of other publications for young people and adults.<\/p>\n

The Jos\u00e9 Mart\u00ed Art Instructors Brigade will celebrate its 19th anniversary with activities too, under the motto \u201cPor la cultura y el humanism\u201d(<\/strong> For culture and humanism), with blood donations, special programming in schools and attention to plaques and monuments; while the Hermanos Sa\u00edz Association will celebrate its 37 years of creation with various initiatives.<\/p>\n

From the 18th to the 20th the 25th<\/sup> issue of the Jos\u00e9 V\u00e1zquez Pubillones Provincial Plastic Arts Contest will take place, to show the most recent artistic production of its creators in the province.<\/p>\n

On the 20th, the honoring the Cuban Culture, the National Anthem will be sung, at 10:00 am, at the Jos\u00e9 Mart\u00ed Park, with the accompaniment of the Provincial Concert Band and, at night, the closing of the event<\/p>\n

It is scheduled for the Pedro A. P\u00e9rez Plaza, with a Cantata and the participation of the Mountain Artistic Group, instructors of the Jos\u00e9 Mart\u00ed Brigade and the Movement of Amateur Artists, among others.<\/p>\n

The Day honoring the Cuban Culture, like every year, evokes \u00a0the beginning of the struggles for independence, and the composition and singing of La Bayamesa, by Perucho Figueredo, a piece that became the National Anthem.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
