Dr. Katia Ram\u00edrez Quindel\u00e1n, head of the Oncology service at the Dr. Agosthino Neto General Teaching Hospital, told that as part of the National Comprehensive Cancer Control Program, education, prevention and health promotion actions are carried out and patients are cared for from primary to tertiary level depending on the diagnosis.<\/p>\n

She adds that in the 22 health areas of the territory there is a consultation to treat those patients who have any warning signs of breast cancer and it is in the largest health institution in the province where each week the multidisciplinary group, the first created in the institution checks around 20 patients every week.<\/p>\n

She adds that the majority of those diagnosed are women with a family history or report other causes such as the abusive use of oral contraceptives, obesity, alcoholism and smoking, factors that contribute to the appearance of this disease that does not exonerate men.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
