Esquivel.<\/p>\n<p>On behalf of the UNESCO Chapter of the G77+China, its president, Palestinian Ambassador Mounir Anastas underlined Cuba\u2019s interest in reinforcing the work of the bloc, made up of 134 member States.<\/p>\n<p>Elman Abdullayev, permanent delegate of Azerbaijan, the country that presides over the NAM, congratulated Cuba for its performance.<\/p>\n<p>Uzbek Deputy Foreign Minister Bakhromjon Aloyev, in turn, acknowledged Cuba, Palestine and Azerbaijan for fulfilling their responsibilities.<\/p>\n<p>The delegations of Kuwait and Djibouti underscored Cuba\u2019s cooperative work.<\/p>\n<p>In her speech at the ministerial meeting, Trujillo repeated Cuba\u2019s conviction that only through unity, solidarity and international cooperation will the countries of the South be able to respond to their legitimate aspirations for development in a world of so many challenges, including conflicts, climate change and the economic crisis.<\/p>\n<p>She reviewed some of the relevant moments of Cuba\u2019s Presidency of the G77+China, including the forums held in Havana in February by the ministers of Education; in May by the ministers of Culture, and in July by the ministers and top authorities for Environment, Science, Technology and Innovation.<\/p>\n<p>Trujillo noted the relevance of the recent Summit of Heads of State and\/or Government of G77+China on \u201cThe Current Challenges of development: Role of Science, Technology and Innovation,\u201d which was held in the Cuban capital.<\/p>\n<p>Edited by Liubis Balart Mart\u00ednez<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>PraiSenior UNESCO officials and diplomats from several countries have acknowledged Cuba&#8217;s work as president of the G77+China, during which it has promoted the values and principles of the organization.
