Her foray into judo, her success in wrestling and her rebirth in boxing, when it seemed like the twilight of her active life, make her one of the most notable female exponents of the sport in Guantanamo.<\/p>\n

The feat took place in Havana\u00b4s Rafael Trejo hall, during the finals of the First National Women’s Boxing Championship. There, in the 66 kg, her new division – previously 75 kg -, the easternmost representative won without much effort against Yadira Rodr\u00edguez from Cienfuegos.<\/p>\n

Arianne Imbert (66 Kg) and Julianne D\u00edaz (60 Kg) finished third, so one gold and two bronze medals were the final results for Guantanamo women in the fight.<\/p>\n

According to the newspaper Jit, Santiago Su\u00e1rez, technical head of women’s boxing, congratulated Legnis Cala from Havana and Estornell, who will represent Cuba in the qualifying tournament\u00a0 to be held in the Italian city of Busto Arsizio, from February 29 to March 12.<\/p>\n
