On the 171st birthday of Cuba\u2019s National Hero, Jos\u00e9 Mart\u00ed, almost 20 cities worldwide, while paying tribute to the Apostle of Independence, demanded the lifting of the economic, commercial, and financial blockade against Cuba.<\/p>\n

D\u00edaz-Canel highlighted on the X platform that compatriots and friends of Cuba gathered in squares and avenues around the world in a day #BetterWithoutBlockade in defense of this Revolution \u201cwith all and for the good of all,\u201d an example of dignity and humanism.<\/p>\n

In response to the call of the Bridges of Love Movement, reports of actions were received from the cities of New York, Miami, Minnesota in the United States; Santa Cruz and La Paz in Bolivia; Manitoba, Ontario, Toronto, and Vancouver in Canada, besides Nicaragua, Ecuador, Guatemala, Uruguay, the Dominican Republic, Panama, El Salvador, and Venezuela, among other countries.<\/p>\n

The tribute to the most universal of the Cubans also reached all Cuban cities, where keynote speeches, forums, workshops, exhibitions by visual artists, contests, and other social network initiatives have taken place to promote and disseminate Mart\u00ed\u2019s legacy.<\/p>\n

The traditional March of the Torches, led by the leader of the Cuban Revolution, Ra\u00fal Castro, President Miguel D\u00edaz-Canel, and commanders Jos\u00e9 Ram\u00f3n Machado, Ramiro Vald\u00e9s, and Guillermo Garc\u00eda, took place in Havana on Saturday evening.<\/p>\n

Jos\u00e9 Mart\u00ed was a distinguished patriot and outstanding politician, writer, thinker, teacher, and journalist who died in action against the Spanish colonialist troops on May 19, 1895.<\/p>\n
