\"\"The collection of poems Soles Invisibles<\/em><\/strong> (Invisible Suns) by the young writer Karla Gil Pe\u00f1a, a member of the Hermanos Sa\u00edz Association (AHS) in Guantanamo, is among the first books of Editorial El Mar y la Monta\u00f1a marketed online on the Ruth Librer\u00edas platform, as part of the actions promoted by the Provincial Book Center in the Alto Oriente to encourage people to read.<\/p>\n

Soles Invisibles<\/em><\/strong> is the first text published by Karla at 27 years old, although her poetry was already known thanks to the multimedia Leer es el Cominezo, the digital magazines Epicentro, Alborismos (Venezuela), Furman 217 (USA), Revista Literaria Pluma (Argentina), the blog Calle B, the newsletter Ideas (from the Jos\u00e9 Soler Puig Literary Promotion Center, Santiago de Cuba), and the poetic anthologies Extremo Oriental. Poetas Guantanameros del nuevo siglo, and M\u00fasica de las palmas by El Mar y la Monta\u00f1a in 2018 and 2019, respectively.<\/p>\n

In Soles Invisibles<\/em><\/strong>, \u00a0the young writer is committed to expressing, with language and contextual elements of her time, the conflicts of mankind of all times, this is how the reader will perceive them, who will enter an environment where human beings, cyborgs, machines, non-conformists interact with their reality, suffocated by it, and by the feeling of resignation, hopelessness.<\/p>\n

When referring to the opportunity on publishing the book on line, the author highlighted the possibilities that new platforms offer to reach more and new audiences in Cuba and beyond national borders, and also insisted that this is a path that everyone should follow to multiply the voice of Cuban literature, especially that of young people, throughout the planet.<\/p>\n

Karla Gil Pe\u00f1a is a native of Santiago de Cuba, and in addition to poetry, she has written stories and ventured into the world of visual arts in a self-taught way. An example of her skills as visual artist are all the illustrations throughout her book Soles Invisibles.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

In her endorsement, Gil Pe\u00f1a accumulates several laurels, including mention in the Abriendo Puertas 2015 International Contest, and the prize in 2017, first place in the Juegos Florales, \u00a0Yo tallo mi diamante<\/em>\u00a02016 and 2017; special mention in Juegos Florales Santiago de Cuba 2019; mention in the La isla en Peso 2020 Creation Grant and the prize in the illustration category at the IX Mabuya Fantasy and Science Fiction Contest, in Havana.<\/p>\n
