\"\"Communication professionals from Cuba will celebrate Press Days from March 5 to 20, in the context of the 132nd anniversary of the Patria Newspaper, founded by National Hero Jos\u00e9 Mart\u00ed.<\/span><\/p>\n

Inspired by Mart\u00ed\u2019s idea that \u201cHe who tells the truth serves the country better\u201d, on this occasion the days will be dedicated to the 170th anniversary of the birth of the prominent patriot Juan Gualberto G\u00f3mez and the 95th anniversary of the revolutionary journalist Ernesto Vera M\u00e9ndez.<\/span><\/p>\n

The press days will begin with the placement, in the capital’s Col\u00f3n cemetery, of a wreath at the tomb of the patriot and journalist Juan Gualberto G\u00f3mez, on the 91st anniversary of his death; whereas from March 18 to 20, they will close with the third Patria International Colloquium, as reported by the Cubaperiodistas website.<\/span><\/p>\n

The program includes the opening on March 6 of the collective photographic exhibition El Instanto Precise<\/i>, by Roberto Chile, in the gallery of the headquarters of the Union of Journalists of Cuba (UPEC).<\/span><\/p>\n

On March 7, at the ALBA Cultural House, the F\u00e9lix Elmusa Distinction will be awarded to outstanding workers in the sector. Relevant women of the union will receive the honor of their colleagues on the 8th, International Women’s Day, at the National Capitol, from where it will be convened the Gender and Communication event.<\/span><\/p>\n

A softball meeting in the Sports City of Havana will take place on March 10, while on the 12th, journalism students will discuss the work of Ernesto Vera M\u00e9ndez, Jos\u00e9 Mart\u00ed National Prize winner and UPEC president for many years.<\/span><\/p>\n

On March 13, retired journalists will talk at UPEC with graduates from all the provinces who came to Havana to join the staff of the national press media. The Public Press Festival, will mark the contact of communicators with their audiences on March 16.<\/span><\/p>\n
