\"\"The fiction feature and short films Bajo la corteza (Under the Thick Skin)<\/strong> and Los ni\u00f1os de Bernarda (Bernarda’s Children)<\/strong>, both directed by Guantanamo filmmakers, are currently being filmed in different locations in the Guant\u00e1namo Province , under the close gaze of the local public, who accompanies and even actively participates in the film shooting.<\/p>\n

Bajo la corteza<\/strong>, second feature film by the renowned Guantanamo director and screenwriter Daniel Ross Di\u00e9guez, tells the story of a street actor who, through his art, seeks to escape the oppression of loneliness and depression, finding in his imagination and in the cultural heritage of his land, a refuge and a purpose.<\/p>\n

The leading role is performed by the actor Juan Gonz\u00e1lez Fiffe, the leader of Teatro Andante, from Granma, and in the supporting roles: the visual artist Ram\u00f3n Moya Hern\u00e1ndez; the actors Alexis Ayala Wilson, director of the comedy group Komot\u00fa, and Ferm\u00edn Francel Figueredo Su\u00e1rez, member of Teatro de la Totalidad; the journalist and writer Reinaldo Cede\u00f1o Pineda, from Santiago de Cuba; the psychiatrist and writer Regino Rodr\u00edguez Boti and the model Ana Zuliam Rodr\u00edguez S\u00e1nchez.<\/p>\n

The assintant team is made up of specialists from Holgu\u00edn (Gerardo Perdomo Gonz\u00e1lez and Oniel Calzadilla Proenza); Santiago de Cuba (Mois\u00e9s Palomo Leyva) and Guant\u00e1namo. This new production has chosen Guantanamo City, Baracoa and Im\u00edas locations to shoot the scenes.<\/p>\n

For its part, Los hijos de Bernarda is an audiovisual adaptation of the choreography of the same name, by maestro Elio Orestes Reyna, director of the Danza Libre Company, which tells the story of Bernarda, mother of three young men, who after knowing about the Adelio’s homosexual preference, the youngest son, she rejects him,\u00a0 leading her youngest son\u00a0 to attempt on his life. This traumatic situaci\u00f3n makes Bernarda and her siblings to recognize her mistake and love finally prevails between the four of them.<\/p>\n
