On X, Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez denounced the White House\u2019s actions, which are part of the U.S. strategy to smother the Venezuelan economy and defeat the Bolivarian Revolution, founded by Chavez.<\/p>\n

The Cuban authorities have repeatedly claimed Washington\u2019s maneuvers to take over the Citgo Petroleum Corporation (CITGO), which ALBA-TCP also denounced it recently.<\/p>\n

In that context, the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America-Treaty of the Peoples (ALBA-TCP) branded as \u201cimmoral and illegal the steps taken by the Biden administration, and demanded the cessation of coercive measures against Venezuela.<\/p>\n

At the beginning of 2024, the U.S. Supreme Court of Justice (SCJ) refused to review the ruling previously issued by a federal district court in the state of Delaware, which allowed the use of CITGO\u2019s financial resources for debts of the Venezuelan Government.<\/p>\n

Venezuela had filed an appeal for review by the U.S. Supreme Court of Justice, but this adverse ruling confirmed the serious damage caused to national interests and the patrimony of the Venezuelan people by opposition leaders of the self-styled \u201cNational Assembly 2015.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Government of President Nicolas Maduro described these actions as a \u201cclear transgression\u201d of the governing peaceful coexistence regulations between States.<\/p>\n
