Guantánamo.-Yoel Pérez García, the First Secretary of the Provincial Committee of the Party, on the radio program “En frecuencia con el pueblo” recognized the heroic people of Guantánamo, when the turn of the year marks the celebration of the 66th anniversary of the triumph of the Cuban Revolution.
In his message, the top political leader in this eastern territory highlighted Unity as the greatest strength to face the challenges of this particularly difficult year, in which the people carried out the campaign Juntos Podemos Más, which allowed political and mass organizations, institutions, the government and the Party to grow and overcome all obstacles.
He also called on the people of Guantánamo to be protagonists of a new year of victories in which strengthening Unity is an essential premise, in addition to the ideological political work, the need to re-boost the economy as well as to face the distortions in this society, where socialism is being built that aspires to be increasingly prosperous, inclusive, sustainable.
Yoel Pérez García, First Secretary of the Provincial Committee of the Party in Guantánamo, on the program En frecuencia con el pueblo, referred to the motivations to continue working together in a 2025 of victories, a year in which several significant historical events for the country will be commemorated, and especially for the people of Guantanamo, such as the 130th anniversary of the landing of José Martí and General Máximo Gómez by Playitas de Cajobabo, the landing of General Antonio Maceo on Duaba, in addition to evoking the 35 years of the last visit made by Commander in Chief Fidel Castro to this indomitable land.
On the other hand, the role of mass organizations, the Union of Young Communists, the Association of Combatants of the Cuban Revolution and the Central of Workers of Cuba during the year 2024 was addressed in the program.
In this regard, Juana Eglis Fernández Lowit, general secretary of the Central Workers in this eastern territory, highlighted that the province won the headquarters of the national act for the 86th anniversary of the creation of the CTC that will be celebrated on January 28, 2025.
The official highlighted the dedication and humanism of the workers put to the test after the passage of Hurricane Oscar through the municipalities of San Antonio del Sur, Imías, Maisí and Baracoa, where they turned to recovery efforts and contributed with the delivery of food, clothing, footwear, household items and other donations for the affected families.
On the other hand, Digler Ortiz, Provincial Coordinator of the Committees for the Defense of the Revolution, spoke on the program En frecuencia con el pueblo in favor of declaring the capital municipality as Ciudad Jardín with the support of the CDR members, while they will continue to promote other tasks such as strengthening surveillance in the neighborhoods, the recovery of raw materials, blood donations, with the firm purpose of reaching the vanguard status at the national level.
Josué Sánchez Ruiz, president of the Association of Combatants of the Cuban Revolution in Guantánamo on ocassion of the celebration of the sixth Conference of the combative institution, reiterated the commitment to defend the Revolution and strengthen work with the new generations in the face of the challenge represented by the growing hostility of imperialism.
Likewise, Adilis Torres, general secretary of the Federation of Cuban Women in the province, highlighted the 91.2 percent integration of women into the ranks of the organization and the work that is being carried out regarding the National Program for the Advancement of Women and the development of policies that contribute to gender equality in the country.
She also confirmed the aspiration to place Guantánamo among the provinces highlighted in greeting the 65th anniversary of the organization’s constitution, which will be celebrated on August 23 of next year.
Leinier Creach Arguelles, member of the Provincial Bureau of the National Association of Small Farmers in Guantánamo also participated in the radio broadcast En Frecuecia and referred to the strengthening of the boards of directors in the cooperatives and the mounted brigades, whose role is essential to confront the theft and illegal slaughter of cattle.
Of course, she affirmed that the peasantry continues to be called upon to steadily increase yields in order to achieve food sovereignty in the country and the contribution to the Agricultural Fair that takes place every Saturday in the different municipalities was highlighted, with special emphasis on the one held this December 28 to bid farewell to 2024 and the advent of a new year.
Alis Azahares, Governor of the province, highlighted the popular participation during 2024 and congratulated the people of Guantanamo who from various sectors maintained the vitality of the services and offers to the population in a year marked by limitations.
