He loves to play and share with his friends, but in his case the thirst for knowledge stands out and he dedicates a large part of his free time to study.
“I must prepare myself for tomorrow to be a better person. José Martí said “Children should cry when the day has passed without learning anything new, without serving in something,” says Mauro, a student and head of the José Martí Pioneers Organization (OPJM) collective at the Alfredo de Jesús Noa Díaz primary school in Punta de Maisí.
The passion for learning is in his blood, since his parents are educators, something that helps him in his education at home, with strength in Mathematics, his mother’s specialty and the subject he prefers at school.
“Individually, at night, when doing homework, always with my books, I analyze everything I learned in class that day and other content to be taught, the latter to already know them and go to the classroom with a better preparation. In addition to what we do at school, on Fridays we have classes to put everything into practice,”, he said.
“I am always studying because I want to be a great man tomorrow, although of course, like every child, I have my time for playing and recreation, especially for football, which I am good at the Punta de Maisí is a small town where almost everyone knows each other and that is why I have many friends, with whom I like to share.”
Mauro, who was recently selected as a direct delegate to the 64th Anniversary Congress of the Organization of Pioneer Jose Martí, also enjoys of children´s interest club in his school, especially the firefighters, training in first aid, and Mirando al Mar brigade.
“I said again that I will always be preparing myself to be a great man and human being tomorrow, which is the most important thing,” concludes Mauro.
