The University of Guantanamo develops the Diploma in management to reduce environmental risks and confront climate change, a new opportunity in favor of learning about these issues that influence the socioeconomic development of the territory.

In this third edition, professionals from the National Office for the Control of the Rational Use of Energy, the Construction Design Enterprise, Public Health, CITMA, the Hydraulic Resources delegation, the José Maceo Grajales Vocational Pre-University Institute of Exact Sciences and from other educational institutions, participate.

Professors recognized for their high scientific level will teach the Diploma modules that will last until the coming month of September to discuss climate change and the Tarea Vida State Plan to mitigate its impact, environmental management, chemical safety in treatment of toxic substances and hazardous waste, among other aspects.

As part of the training  the engineer Onel Román Quesada teaches the course Use of GPS technology to georeference management in protected areas, in favor of the work of researchers and specialists belonging to the Science, Technology and Environment delegation.

The program of the diploma course in management to reduce environmental risks and confront climate change also includes scientific conferences, as well as the preparation of articles related to actions to mitigate the effects of this global phenomenon and the problems that affect the environment in the territory .
