The University of Guantánamo (UG) and the University of Fondwa , of Haiti, updated the collaboration agreement for the fulfillment of academic projects of common interest, which will facilitate the conduct of joint research, and training of professionals and students through short courses , seminars, and training.
The document, signed by the Doctor of Sciences, Osiris Aranda Creagh, rector of the UG, and Lanfontant Ludsonde, rector of the Haitian university, consolidates the agreement signed in October 2002, and strengthens new alliances for the exchange of scientific research, doctoral programs , and internships for teachers and students.
The master’s degree in Educational Sciences, Yolaine Feliciano Chediak, specialist in Academic Affairs in the Department of International Relations of the UG , explaibed that as part of the agreement, it is expected that at the end of August of this year 20 Haitian students from Veterinary Medicine arrive at the Guantanamo institution to receive teaching practices for one month.
She added that the Haitian side was interested in the preparation of UG professors in the command of the French and English language for possible educational cooperation actions in that country in the careers of Agronomy, Veterinary Medicine and Administration, as well as announced to open the Education Faculty.
The University of Guantánamo maintains more than 40 collaboration agreements with foreign institutions, in strategic sectors of the country, mainly in the areas of educational, agricultural, environmental sciences, and educational technology.
