Guantanamo.- Yoel Pérez García, the First Secretary of the Party in Guantánamo Province, praised the patriotism and dedication of the young soldiers from the Antonio Maceo Border Brigade who have completed their Active Military Service. Alongside key figures such as Alis Azahares Torreblanca, the Governor, and Sayli Frómeta Tito, a representative of the Young Communists League, they reaffirmed their commitment to maintaining peace along the border, particularly in light of the presence of the illegal U.S. naval base.
The day was marked by meaningful dialogue and the exchange of experiences, highlighting the ongoing commitment of youth to military service, reminiscent of the dedication seen over six decades ago.
First Colonel Silvio Durruhy Pérez emphasized the importance of political and ideological development within the brigade, particularly the role of youth leaders in executing the command’s objectives.
The emotions of the young recruits, averaging 18 years old, were evident as they shared their heartfelt experiences from the front lines.
A particularly poignant moment was the presentation of awards for Outstanding Performance in Defense Preparation and Distinguished Service in the Revolutionary Armed Forces, which higlighted the young soldiers’ achievements and dedication to the nation.
