Guantánamo.- José Ramón Machado Ventura, Commander of the Rebel Army, affirmed that despite the complex and challenging times our country is facing, we will move forward and achieve victory as always.
This statement was made during the reading of his accountability report before the Municipal Assembly of People’s Power in Guantánamo, where he has served as a Deputy to the Parliament for several legislatures.
With affection and heartfelt admiration, the delegates to the highest governing body in the provincial capital highlighted Machado Ventura as a comrade of many battles who sets an example at 95 years old by continuing to fight for the Revolution that has been the purpose of his life.
Yoel Pérez García, the main Party leader in the territory and also a member of the National Assembly of People’s Power, expressed that accountability at all levels is a mechanism that must be perfected and rigorously developed before the people with transparency.
It is a means to improve leadership work in search of results with greater impact, embodying the spirit that Together We Can Do More.
During the Thirty-Second Ordinary Session of the Municipal Assembly of People’s Power in Guantánamo, the performance of the other four parliamentarians was also reviewed.
They reaffirmed their sense of responsibility and commitment from a dialectical perspective, defending the Revolution and its direction on the path of socialist construction.
The most recent ordinary meeting of this governing body reflected on problems related to funeral services, with emphasis on the San Rafael Cemetery, where it was agreed to begin comprehensive repairs and adopt measures aimed at resolving occurrences of criminal acts and social indiscipline.
The insufficient pace of solid waste collection, which leads to an increase in illegal dumping sites, was another issue that generated extensive debate and agreements to resolve it with greater citizen responsibility.
The recurring vulnerabilities affecting the effective functioning of the banking process were also discussed.
Delegates of the people’s power in the municipality of Guantánamo called for increased control and confrontation of state economic actors, self-employed workers, and MSMEs who violate the provisions of Resolution 113 of the Central Bank of Cuba, particularly the mandatory use of electronic payment channels such as Transfermóvil and Enzona for goods and services transactions.
