The Ministry of Transport (Mitrans) today released the official schedule for national trains for the month of August, confirming departures to four destinations in the eastern part of the country; the information was published through the institutional profile Rutas Nacionales on Facebook.

According to the announcement, the frequency of trips to Bayamo-Manzanillo, Holguín, Guantánamo and Santiago de Cuba will remain every 16 days; this measure seeks to guarantee transportation and connections between the capital and these eastern cities.

The scheduled itinerary includes routes between Havana and Santiago de Cuba with departures on the 14th and 30th, as well as the return from Santiago to the capital on the 12th and 28th. Trips from Havana to Guantánamo and back are also planned for the 6th and 22nd, and the 4th and 20th, respectively. Additionally, routes to Holguín and Bayamo-Manzanillo have been established with specific dates for round trips between August 2nd and 26th.

The Cuban Railway Union took the opportunity to recognize the effort and dedication of the railway system workers, who keep services operational despite current limitations; they also thanked the public for their understanding in the face of these circumstances affecting transportation.

Finally, the Ministry of Transportation reminded users that they can obtain additional information about the departure and operation of national trains through the official “National Routes” profile on Facebook.
