Guantánamo is the province that has made the most progress at the country level with the creation of 29 children’s houses, an Early Childhood alternative that extends throughout the eastern territory, on the Resolution 58/2021 of the Minister of Education, which regulates the opening of these institutions.

Yuvasnovis Maceo Pérez, provincial head for Early Childhood, highlighted that this new variant of educational care benefits to date more than 500 girls and boys under one year to five years old, who are cared for by educators and pedagogical assistants, in charge to to form right habits, and to act upon right principles and love for the country and its heroes.

Given the lack of capacity to register at day care centers in the province, the creation of children’s houses is being considered a good initiative, of which only 20 belong to the education sector and the municipalities Guantánamo, Baracoa, Yateras, El Salvador and Niceto Pérez stand out. The children’s house is widespread for the good of working mothers.

In the Guantánamo Province there are 39 day care centers, an insufficient number compared to the demand for applications, hence the idea of increasing children’s houses is an alternative that is very well received by working families, those who see childcare solved.
