Guantanamo – The Guantanamo University of Medical Sciences officially welcomed the more than 500 young people who began the third edition of the basic Nursing course, with the purpose of reinforcing this specialty in health areas and hospital institutions in the province.
These future professionals under 18 and 35 years of age appreciate this opportunity as part of the work of the revolution, since most of them were unemployed and today they have the opportunity to contribute to preventing and curing diseases in such a sensitive sector.
The third edition of the basic nursing course will last one year for twelfth grade graduates, while ninth grade graduates are trained in a two-year academic course, with a study schedule that includes general training subjects.
The opening ceremony, held in the Mariana Grajales Cuello Revolution Square, was attended by Yoel Peréz García, first secretary of the Party in the province and Alis Azahares, governor at the same level, among other leaders of the health sector and guests.
