Guantanamo.-Raquel Laviste Villafruela, provincial director of Education in Guantánamo, expressed special appreciation for the more than 11 thousand educators of different teaching levels, who led the province to be distinguished at the country level for more than 11 consecutive courses at the end of the school year.
This merit, she said, is supported by the results achieved in the national and international knowledge competition with more than 50 Gold, Silver and Bronze medals, the opening of thirty children’s houses, as well as the remodeling of institutions and the promotion of the food program in boarding schools.
During the closing gala of the school year held at the Guaso theater in Guantanamo City, a group of outstanding teachers received the José Tey medal and the Rafael María de Mendive Distinction for their dedicated work in the quality training of the new generations of students.
Likewise, other educational groups were recognized with the distinction for Cuban education, a recognition granted by the Minister of Education, while 25 professionals were awarded for achieving 100 percent of students passing the entrance exams to Higher Education for three consecutive years.
Dedicated to the 71st anniversary of the assaults on the Moncada and Carlos Manuel de Céspedes barracks, the ceremony also highlighted the work of educators and prominent centers from the municipalities of Baracoa, Imías, San Antonio del Sur, Yateras, Manuel Tames and Caimanera that were the most outstanding regarding the integral in the educational teaching process.
Likewise, the Provincial Directorate of Education in Guantánamo granted special recognition to the 14 de Junio school, the Provincial Palace of Pioneros Ramón Infante, the Pedagogical School and the José Maceo Grajales Vocational Institute, for the results achieved during the course that it officially closed in the easternmost territory.
Guantánamo ended the 2023-2024 school year with significant results at the country level for more than eleven consecutive years, and is preparing to offer attractive recreational proposals in this new summer stage.
