Guantanamo – When the watch shows the end of the summer season and the proximity of the start of the 2024-2025 school year. A few hours away from this great festival of knowledge, there is smell of ironed uniforms, clean shoes in the Guantanamo houses; mothers and grandmothers taking advantage of the weekend so that this Monday, September 2, becomes a true festival of knowledge.
Joy and enthusiasm reign again for the return to that longed-for space that is school to begin a new school year that does not escape the limitations of resources and school means, due to the economic situation that the country is going through, however, there will be a safe place in each classroom for the more than 86 thousand Guantanamo students.
This Monday, despite the daily challenges, little Natacha Gallardo González, very happy shows the uniform that she will wear for the first time, she already has her shoes ready, and her mother Yanet González does again and again her little girl’s hairstyle for the first day of school.
For his part, the adolescent from Basic Secondary School, Roiber Martínez is already getting ready to finish the ninth grade, while confessing that his main goal is to study as much as possible to get for a career in health, specifically Imaging.
To meet these and other expectations of the students, a staff of more than 11,000 teachers and professors await their students to educate them and train them as good men and women.
The families of the Cuban Upper East must also be involved in these efforts of the educators, as they are the ones most responsible for guaranteeing the punctuality of their children to the classrooms, ensuring that the school materials for their studies is taken care of, that they comply with their schoolwork, in addition to correcting them in time for any inappropriate behavior inside and outside of schools.
In Guantanamo, there will be no classroom without a teacher, nor a student without the possibility of continuing their studies on September 2nd, so, with the conditions created, all that remains is to commit ourselves to fulfilling our part in the effort to achieve quality in the promotion of the 2024-2025 academic year.
