The member states of the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America-People’s Trade Agreement (ALBA-TCP) expressed their concern over the serious and prolonged situation that Haiti is experiencing today.A statement issued by the Latin American and Caribbean integration organization indicated that the recent acts of violence deepen the crisis and make more urgent a solution led by that country which should include “a broad dialogue between civil society and political actors to restore peace, democracy, and the necessary security conditions in the nation.
ALBA-TCP reiterated the need to coordinate efforts so that, through effective cooperation mechanisms, “without interference”, Haiti may achieve the definitive path towards peace and solve the humanitarian needs of its citizens.
