Guantanamo.- In Baracoa’s schools, communication and dialogue between teachers and students’ families and guardians are being strengthened these days regarding the measures the sector is adopting in the complex situation the country is facing.
Parent-teacher meetings are being held, both at the school level and by individual groups, to discuss each student’s specific needs and the work teachers and assistants are doing with them.
Concerns about school entry and exit times according to grade level, as well as the relocation of students and teachers based on their neighborhood and the location of the school where they study or work, are also key issues addressed in these meetings, which also tackle transportation due to the widespread fuel shortage.
Timely communication about the measures implemented in the education sector is vital for achieving the objectives of the teaching and learning process in the current academic year, despite the difficult situation imposed by the U.S. government with the intensification of the genocidal and unilateral blockade against Cuba.
